Our Yellow Submarine

We’re home, and Thomas is doing well. He played with water for the first time today – a little tricky with the trach, but we managed. He went nuts. Loved it. Kept looking at me like, “Mom, is this for me? Is all of this for me?” and then he’d go back to trying out hard and soft splashes.

I’m glad he’s easily entertainable – I don’t think I could handle much more at the moment. There’s this decompression phase that follows a hospital visit, where we try to shift our routine back into “normal”. Thomas is getting set on a livable sleep schedule, and we’re all appreciating the joys of home anew…you know, weather-appropriate PJs, the freedom to change rooms without re-sanitizing our hands, and …did I mention PJs?

I'm so very happy that Thomas is able to enjoy playing in the water. There's just something about making a big splash and seeing that look on their face --like - "Look what I'm making!!" Thank you so much - Sarah - for taking the precious time to give us the updates on Thomas. May the Lord continually bless you, Scott and precious Thomas!!

What a cutie pie little Thomas is! Enjoy every minute with him. You will treasure them all - even when he's 30 years old. God is blessing you with these special moments.
